Case Study: Tranquil Paths – A Mindful Meditation Business in the UK
Let’s walk through my logo design process for Tranquil Paths, a mindful meditation business that wanted to break away from the overused spiritual symbols and create a brand that truly reflected its purpose.

Understanding the Brand’s Purpose & Values
Before I put pen to paper (or style to screen! 😉), strategy comes first.
For Tranquil Paths, I focused on these key brand values:
✨ Establishing trust in mindfulness and meditation.
✨ Empowering people to find their own path to inner peace.
✨ Standing out from the common lotus-and-yoga-symbol approach.
By identifying what makes this brand unique, I explored new visual directions beyond the expected.

Mind Mapping Keywords for Inspiration
Once I understood the brand’s values, I brainstormed keywords that captured the essence of what Tranquil Paths stood for. The strongest themes?
🌿 Peace – A sense of calm and tranquility.
🚶♂️ Path – A journey toward self-discovery and enlightenment.
✨ Light – A symbol of clarity, awakening, and guidance.
These ideas became the foundation for the logo’s creative direction.

Developing a Visual Identity with Mood Boards
Rather than jumping straight into design, I created a mood board to define the brand’s visual style.
🌄 Nature-inspired colours – Soft, earthy, and calming tones pulled from refracted light.
🌟 Symbolism – Elements that reflect a journey.
🔆 Typography – They wanted the logo to be word-based so the font needed to feel timeless, wise, and clear for different platforms.
This helped ensure the final design would feel aligned and cohesive, not just a random collection of visual elements.

Designing a Logo with Meaning
Now, onto the most exciting part—bringing everything together into a meaningful, well-thought-out logo. Instead of relying on generic symbols, I designed a mark that deeply reflected the brand’s mission:
🔹 Typography with meaning – I used a refined typeface rooted in classical calligraphy, symbolizing wisdom, authenticity, and guidance.
🔹 A rolling hill motif – The tail of the letter ‘Q’ mimics a path leading toward enlightenment.
🔹 Stars & curves – The stars represent the light and guidance that you find when following your journey at tranquil paths, while the rounded bridges of the ‘A’ create a harmonious, flowing feel aligning with the hills in the Q.
🔹 A balanced, structured design – The elements enclose and highlight the word Paths, reinforcing the idea of direction and purpose.
This isn’t just a pretty logo—it’s a brand identity with purpose.
Expanding the Brand Beyond the Logo
A successful brand identity doesn’t stop at a logo. I designed:
📱 Social media templates – Custom Canva templates for easy, on-brand content creation.
📜 Brand guidelines – A practical, easy-to-use document in Canva, allowing the client to pull brand assets and stay consistent.
🌈 A cohesive colour palette – Inspired by light and nature, creating a sense of warmth, peace, and balance.
